Storytelling for Communities & Schools
Long before there were written words – people told stories. Stories have always been essential to our lives and communities, as necessary as food and shelter for everyone— not just for kids.
Story nourishes the deepest roots of our hearts and minds, helping us find meaning and connection, arrive at a sense of our own self worth, and appreciate other people and cultures as well. No matter how young or old, people still need to hear and tell stories.
Storytelling is an ancient and effective teaching tool, for thousands of years oral traditions have passed down history, values, wisdom of the mind, and wisdom of the heart through stories.
Noa Baum brings stories to life with her animated and energetic style. She offers a range of storytelling programs to inspire, entertain, educate, and delight children and their families as well as adults and teens and school assemblies.
Each program features stories from a wide repertoire of world folktales, myths, literary adaptations, history, and personal experience. Drawing from the wisdom and humor of many traditions, Noa’s stories connect us to our common humanity while honoring diversity making them especially relevant for communities and schools today.
Noa’s workshops bring the power of storytelling and story-listening into communities and social groups and schools. Her innovative workshops and educational programs inspire and build bridges of understanding and compassion. Workshops for educators and community leaders offer valuable tools for communicating and teaching through story.
You were great! It’s exciting to be able to link storytelling to real community issues and to see how stories shape how we see the world.
